Gentle Touch: Infant massage and Co-regulation JULY 10 or ONLINE JULY 12

Gentle Touch is a nurturing parent education class designed to help caregivers strengthen connection, calm, and communication with their baby through infant massage and responsive calming techniques.

Parents will learn safe, developmentally supportive infant massage techniques while also exploring co-regulation strategies that help babies feel secure, organized, and emotionally supported.

This class focuses on:

  • Infant massage techniques

  • Reading baby cues and body language

  • Calming strategies for fussiness and overstimulation

  • Co-regulation through touch, voice, movement, and presence

  • Supporting digestive comfort to relieve gas and/or reflux 

  • Safe and effective babywearing 

  • Understanding infant nervous system development

Caregivers will practice gentle techniques including:

  • Massage strokes

  • Gentle stretches for baby

  • Positioning and holding techniques for baby

  • Baby wearing

  • Techniques for digestive comfort

This 60 minute class provides a welcoming and supportive environment where parents can slow down, connect with their baby, and build confidence in responding to their infant’s needs.

In person classes are held at Tuneful Journey Ames, IA on Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Address: 2801 Grand Ave #1090, Ames, IA 50010

Online classes will be held on Google Meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m.
