About Baby Steps Therapy

Welcome! My name is Laurie Andrews, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy), CBS (Certified Breastfeeding Specialist) and I am the owner and sole provider of Baby Steps Therapy. I have been practicing as a physical therapist for 11 years and have been working with breastfeeding dyads for the past 3 years. I have a passion for helping babies feel comfortable in their bodies and optimize infant feeding at breast or bottle. I am also the proud mother of 2 wonderful daughters that have been my inspiration and have given me a whole new perspective on breastfeeding and supporting new parents!

I would love to work with you and your baby 1 on 1 in the comfort of your own home, or in a group baby development class filled with community, education, and support.

What are common reasons parents would book an evaluation with me?

Parents that are having difficulty with breastfeeding, especially if they have been told that baby has a lot of tension and/or are suspecting a possible tongue tie. Parents that have noticed a significant side preference with baby’s head tilt, turning, and/or shows a hand preference or preference for only nursing on one side. If parents have concerns about their baby’s head shape or facial asymmetries. If parents are concerned about their baby’s development and meeting milestones.

What is involved with baby developmental classes?

Classes will be separated based on babies ages to work on milestone based skills, infant massage techniques, stretches and neuromuscular engaged activities. Learn cry-free tummy time activities, get advice for appropriate play equipment and baby gear use, and how to support your baby from a specialized pediatric PT, while gaining community with other families.
